R&B singer Chris Brown has officially cut romantic ties with reunited 25-year-old girlfriend Rihanna by revealing they are no longer in an intimate relationship with one another.Brown blamed his own busy schedule and being 24 as the motivation behind their split.
Those who wondered if something was up with Chris Brown and Rihanna after she was unable to join him on his May 5 birthday might have been right! In a new interview with the Australian radio station 2DayFM, Chris admitted that he was split from RiRi and flying solo. "I'mma do it solo," Chris told the Aussie DJ. The R&B singer seems to intimate that his and Rihanna's schedules unfortunately got in the way of their relationship, and that her inability to make it to his birthday celebrations may have been a factor too: "I mean, at the end of the day, shawty doing her own thing, she on the road. It's always gonna be love. I'm a grown man, just gotta move forward." Though Chris said he is "always gonna love" Rihanna, he talked about how he's more focused on himself right now. "People have differences and people have different wants and needs," he says. "At the end of the day she's a young girl. I can't be focused on wife-ing somebody that young... and I'm young too." (Hollywood Life)Coincidentally, CB reunited with his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran a few days ago.
Indeed, Brown reunited with his other on-and-off love, Karrueche Tran, during his birthday bash in Hollywood last Friday -- but, alas, according to an onlooker, "He didn't appear to be paying much attention to her and was partying around a lot of girls." Adds a source close to Rihanna of the latest split: "Of course tomorrow they could be all over each other again, but for now she's done and just living her life and touring. It's how it always is." (Us Magazine)Back in February, Brown talked about RiRi forgiving him for his infamous 2009 attack on her.
Exhibit A: R&B star Chris Brown says he's worked hard and persuaded pop-star Rihanna to forgive him and love him again, even though he beat her up in 2009 and may still be on the hook for charges in the case. London's The Mirror tabloid is reporting today that he granted a "searingly honest" interview to a Mirror scribe in which he apologized, again, held up the assault as the "biggest mistake" of his life, and acknowledged that winning Rihanna back took months of "serious making up." "But she loves me -- what can I say? I'm forgiven ... but, yes, I worked hard for it," he told reporter Clemmie Moodie on Sunday at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar-watching party. (USA Today)Although it sounds like Breezy dumped the R&B diva, she previously spoke on having the upper-hand on when their relationship would end.
"When you add up the pieces from the outside, it's not the cutest puzzle in the world," Rihanna says. "You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it's different now. We don't have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about sh*t. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don't want to lose that." And Rihanna says that if Brown were ever to display a hint of his past behavior towards her, she is ready to walk. "He doesn't have the luxury of f*cking up again," she says. "That's just not an option. I can't say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I'm pretty solid in the knowing that he's disgusted by that. And I wouldn't have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility." (Rolling Stone)
